Hello Lucky Dog Racers! It has been a lot of waiting, to see how COVID-19 would turn out. But finally, here we are, gearing up to race in 2020! Things are finally starting to turn around! Who is ready to do some racing and see some awesome drifting on Saturday evening by our special guests DriftJam?

To continue keeping COVID-19 contained, we will be outlining here our new protocol which we will follow at our July 3,4,5 weekend at Shannonville and all events until further notice.

“GUEST-LIST ONLY” NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION AND UNFORTUNATELY NO SPECTATORS. DRIVERS AND CREW ONLY!

Please make sure all drivers have their ANNUAL MEMBERSHIPS AND CAR ENTRIES PAID prior to getting to the track. Drivers make sure to pay memberships and sign e-waivers below. Captains must email Chuck and let them know about any additional crew members ahead of time and are also responsible for making sure they receive these supplemental rules and sign the e-waiver. THE E-WAIVER IS LINKED AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS DOCUMENT AND THE FRONT GATES WILL HAVE A GUEST LIST. FAILURE TO READ AND FOLLOW THESE STEPS MEANS YOU WON’T BE ON THE LIST.

ARRANGE PAYMENT

The first person to check in from each team will receive a package for their team which will contain the usual items like wrist bands, tech forms, logbooks, etc. There will also be a few masks and disinfection items included, please use them. You are encouraged to bring your own appropriate PPE but we will supply a few things just in case. ONCE YOU GET TO THE GATES, HELMETS OR MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES FROM THAT POINT ON UNLESS YOU ARE WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF YOUR OWN TEAMS PADDOCK.

IF YOU NEED NUMBER PANELS, PLEASE TELL US AHEAD OF TIME SO WE CAN PUT IT IN THE PACKAGE. Notorious Goods has whipped up these simple panels (below) and while not mandatory to have, they'll look great! (other LEGAL sized panels will do if you already have your car stickered up).

All remaining members on the team will simply check themselves in at the gates and proceed to their paddock.

NOVICE DRIVERS PROGRAM HAS INCREACED ITS INTENSITY

In an effort to increase the safety and performance of our novice drivers. One of our fellow racers and very well respected high performance driving instructor, Robin Virtue (along with Jon Dunski from Ultraray Motorsports) will not only will he be hosting our mandatory novice school, he is also going to take our novices out on track for some “follow the leader” during our Qualifying/Lapping session and even follow up with a post race debriefing after our Saturday race. THE NOVICE MEETINGS WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE CONCESSION STANDS COVERED PICNIC TABLES WITH STRICT SOCIAL DISTANCING ENFORCED. IF YOU ARE NEW TO LUCKY DOG OR YOU HAVE A TEAMATE WHO IS A NOVICE DRIVER, THIS MEETING IS MANDATORY.

VEHICLE AND GEAR CHECK WILL TAKE PLACE AT YOUR PADDOCK

When your vehicle and ALL race suits are unpacked and ready to be checked, please have your tech form (which was included in the package) filled out and then signal one of our staff members to come to your paddock and look over your stuff for you. If you need a rental transponder, please let us know at that time so we can bring it with us. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL AND CLEAR THE AREA FOR OUR STAFF BUT STAY CLOSE ENOUGH WE CAN ASK QUESTIONS.

DRIVERS MEETINGS WILL BE DONE VIA TRACK PA SYSTEM

No need to leave the comfort of your paddock, it will be just like listening to the announcements back in our school days. DRIVERS MEETINGS WILL TAKE PLACE AT THESE TIMES:
Friday @ 4:30 (Novice meeting: concession picnic tables)
Friday @ 5:30pm (Qualifying/Lapping & “Follow the leader”)
Saturday @ 7:50am
Sunday @ 8:20am

OUR CAR-COUNT WILL DETERMINE WHERE/HOW PIT LANE WILL BE SETUP

OPTION-A: 15 CARS OR LESS (YES…IT’S POSSIBLE). Pit road will be used as normal with greater space given between teams.

OPTION-B: 15+ CARS. PIT LANE IS CLOSED FOR THE RACES! All pit stops will take place in your own paddock. We will have teams arrange themselves in the best way possible to create a smooth flowing pit lane. Car speed in the paddock will be reduced to DEAD-SLOW. Fuel times will be increased to 10mins to keep everyone calm and safe while fueling close to campers, etc. All mandatory safety requirements like suits and extinguishers remain the same. No motorized vehicles can be used in the paddock during the races other than the race cars themselves and track staff. Pedestrian traffic is allowed but will be expected to stay to the side and give race cars the right of way. Any street/pit vehicles that are intended on being used during the race should be parked outside of the designated pit-lane area as to not disrupt the race.

GRANDSTANDS ARE OPEN TO DRIVERS/CREW WITH STRICT SPACING GUIDELINES TO FOLLOW!

We will allow you guys to spot your team and check things out from the grandstands, but we expect to see a safe distance from other teams or anyone that isn’t part of your own crew. Once again, a helmet or a mask must always be worn.

CONSESSIONS WILL BE OPEN TO OUR RACERS AND CREW

Please obey the strict social distancing rules while ordering your food. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and social distancing, we cannot do our usual Saturday night BBQ. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that things lighten up even more for our August race.

WEEKEND SCHEDULE

FRIDAY
2pm – 5pm: Registration/Tech – When RV’s arrive, our gate person will instruct them on where they should park. Simply unload your race car, suits, fill out the tech-form and flag down one of our staff members to come have a look at everything.
4:30pm – Novice School – Mandatory for ALL NEW DRIVERS. **Hosted by Robin Virtue and Jon Dunski.
5pm – Drivers meeting for the lapping/qualifying.
5:30pm-8pm – Qualifying/Lapping**

SATURDAY
7:45am – Driver meeting – Mandatory for ALL DRIVERS
8:30am - 3:30pm – Race 1 (7hrs)
4pm – Post race debriefing for all novices hosted by Robin Virtue at the concession picnic area
3:30pm - 8pm – ***Lapping (Fabi) / Drifting with DriftJam (Nelson)

** All novices will receive some “follow the leader” training during the Qualifying/Lapping session. So make sure to have your race car ready to go!

*** We will be cycling between sessions with street cars allowed (no passing) and race cars only (passing allowed). Length of sessions TBD depending on car count.

SUNDAY
9am - 5pm – Race 2 (8hrs)
5pm Awards Ceremony via track PA system.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

- NO CONTACT! Our series takes a lot of pride in CLEAN RACING and we want to see your race car getting loaded up in the same condition as when it was unloaded on Friday! You all made us so proud last year, it was easily the cleanest season we have seen in endurance racing. Let’s do it again!
- RV electrical costs $30 for the weekend (Payable to the track. At the track).
- There is no fuel on site.
- There is an air pump, but reliability is NOT its strong point.
- Noise Restriction is 92db (@50 feet).
- No smoking and/or BBQ within 30ft of any fuel source.
- No glass bottles of any kind on the property.
